How this works
Where answers come from
Only the candidates' own websites
We get the list of candidates, with their phone numbers and emails, from each city’s official list.
We read each candidate’s own campaign website once, save a copy, and note the date we checked it.
When you pick a topic, an AI model (Claude, made by Anthropic) writes a summary using only those saved websites. It quotes the candidates’ own words and links to the page each quote came from. We then check every quote, word for word, against the saved pages. If one doesn’t match, we tell you.
What we don't use
No social media, news or opinions
We don’t use social media, news stories, or anything other people wrote about a candidate. Many candidates campaign mostly at the door or on social media. If we can’t find what a candidate thinks, we say so and give you their contact details. Missing information says nothing about the candidate’s views.
How we stay fair
Every candidate, every time
- Every candidate in your race is in every answer.
- Candidates are shown in a new random order each time.
- Every candidate gets the same space and the same design. We never show photos.
- We never recommend, rank or score candidates, even if you ask.
- Every claim links to the candidate's own words.
- We are not connected to any candidate, party or city.
The AI can make mistakes. Always follow the links and check the source. We show candidates’ words; we don’t fact-check them. See our disclaimer and terms.
The “I'm a person” check
Why we ask before you type a question
Topic answers are written once and then shown to everyone, so they’re free for us to show. Each typed question costs us money to answer. So before you type one, we ask you to tick a box run by Cloudflare. It only loads if you choose to type a question.
Your privacy
We don't keep your questions
We don’t save your questions or ask who you are. To stop misuse, we count how many questions come from each connection. We scramble that information and delete it within two days. If you type a question, Cloudflare may see basic technical information to run its check. We count visits anonymously, without cookies.

Who pays for this
One Ontario resident, out of pocket
The site, the database and every AI answer are paid for by the person who built it. If you find it useful, you can chip in for the running costs (opens in a new tab). It’s optional. Support never changes what we show, and we don’t accept money from candidates, campaigns or parties.
